How to execute a JUJI Gatame Roll

October 16, 2017

Here is Jimmy Pedro demonstrating a technique that is commonly seen on the world circuit for judo. Everyone has seen this technique but most miss all the little details that make this technique work. Watch closely and listen as he explains the little points to get this move to work.

I know this move works! Jimmy taught it to me years ago and I can’t even count the number of people I have submitted with this move. Here are some of the key points to help you out in case you didn’t notice them in the video:

  1. Get your foot all the way across

  2. Hand High on the thigh

  3. Elevate your partner in the air – Don’t just roll them over control them.

  4. To finish Attack the wrist
